✈️ From Ildong to Arizona: Kourtney's Story

Hi! I'm Kourtney — founder, chief stationery curator, and the person who gets genuinely excited about a new mechanical pencil. Art Haus & Co started with a love story between me and a stationery store in South Korea.

In 2009–2010, I had the incredible opportunity to live in Ildong, South Korea. It was there that I discovered the magic of Korean stationery culture — the rows of beautifully designed notebooks, the satisfying weight of a quality mechanical pencil, the tiny enamel pins that made you smile just looking at them. I was completely hooked.

When I returned home to Chandler, Arizona, I couldn't shake the feeling that more people deserved to experience that same joy. So I did what any stationery-obsessed person would do: I started a shop. 🖊️

What began as a passion project has grown into a small family business — run by me, my family, and of course, our very important Chief Morale Officer: our dog, Mochi. 🐾

🔍 How We Curate: Only the Good Stuff

We don't just sell stationery — we hunt for it. Every product in our shop has been personally selected because it made us stop and say, "Oh, that's special."

Our sourcing journey takes us through the best stationery from South Korea and Japan — two countries with a deep, beautiful culture around paper goods, writing instruments, and thoughtful design. We look for items that are:

• ✏️ Beautifully designed — because aesthetics matter
• 🌿 High quality — things that feel as good as they look
• ✨ Unique — items you won't find at your average big-box store
• 💛 Joyful — because life's too short for boring stationery

We also proudly feature products from small businesses in the United States, because supporting fellow makers and creators is close to our hearts. Our goal is to keep expanding — bringing in unique stationery finds from even more countries around the world.

We keep our quantities intentionally small and curated. This isn't a warehouse — it's a carefully chosen collection, like a little boutique you can visit from anywhere.
